About the OtherPluckers
The OtherPluckers play a blend of roots/Americana and bluegrass mountain gospel along with a dash of folk, a dram of Irish, y un peqiuto tex-mex. Their original songs are inspired by storytellers such as Townes van Zandt and John Prine, and steeped in the traditions established by the standard-bearers of songwriting like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan. Their repertoire also includes tasty covers from Steve Earle, Buck Owens, and even Led Zeppelin.
The OtherPluckers have been a band in the making for over 20 years. Ian Elkus, Lee Vegas and Adam Carlebach have been friends since 1987. The trio met Eddie Gonzales after moving to San Francisco in 1990.
In the ensuing 17 years, each pursued various musical ventures, some overlapping and some not. But these were still the guys you went to when you wanted to liven up your small party with an impromptu acoustic jam or do some real live singing around a campfire.
If a band can be defined as ‘a group of musicians who like to get together and play music that makes them happy,’ then the OtherPluckers have been a band for decades. Come to a show or download some songs and you will be happy too.
